It is the best of times. It is the worst of times. It is the season of Darkness. It is the spring of hope. A new Pope takes the helm of the Roman Catholic Church at a time of strife and intrigue. The Roman Catholic Church, riddled with scandals after scandals of sex abuse, pedophile priests, abuse and financial wrongdoing, elected a new Pope in a conclave of 114 cardinals last Wednesday, March 13, 2013. The Catholic Church new pope, formerly known as Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio, 76 years old, archbishop of Buenos Aires, Argentina, now heads the 1.2 billion Roman Catholics. He ended the run of nearly 1,300 years of European Popes. He is known to travel around Buenos Aires on buses and trains. He is known for taking the subway and mingling with the poor of Buenos Aires. He has a heart for the poor. He is very humble and cooks his own meal.
